American Football Agrees to Equal Pay Deal – CBS Sacramento


(CNN) – The United States Soccer Federation (USSF), United States Women’s National Team Players Association (USWNTPA), and United States National Soccer Team Players Association United (USNSTPA) have agreed to an agreement that ensures “equal pay and sets the global standard for moving forward in international football.

US Soccer, under the agreements, will become “the first federation in the world to match the FIFA World Cup prizes” awarded to teams for their participation in world cups.

“This is a truly historic moment,” U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlow Cone said in a statement Wednesday. “These deals have changed the game forever here in the United States and have the potential to change the game around the world.”

Cone added: “US Soccer and the players of the USWNT and USMNT have reset their relationship with these new agreements and lead us into an incredibly exciting new phase of mutual growth and collaboration as we continue our mission to become the preeminent sport in the United States.”
