Since the launch of Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, users have complained about various types of issues with these handsets. And it looks like the bug streak isn’t over yet.
A portion of Google Pixel 6 users now report (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) problems with the HSBC banking application. Users say that they cannot download this app from PlayStore and an error message is displayed: “Your device is not compatible with this version”.
Users cannot download the HSBC banking app on the Pixel 6
Many users have taken to Twitter, the Google forum, and Reddit to complain about not being able to download the HSBC banking app on their Pixel 6 devices preinstalled with Android 12.
Here are some reports for reference:
@HSBC_UK there is no app compatibility with the HSBC UK Android app and my phone, which is the Google Pixel 6. I’m trying to connect with my laptop but can’t enter without DSK, that I can’t generate because I don’t have access to the mobile banking app. What can I do ? (Source)
@HSBC_UK when do you plan to run the banking app on pixel 6? I tried to look on the internet but I couldn’t find any information. Considering the importance of a secure digital key, this should be a priority (Source)
As the above reports show, it seems clear that the HSBC app is only incompatible with Pixel 6 devices, while other Pixel phones with Android 12 can easily run this app.
On the bright side, HSBC is said to be aware of this issue with Pixel 6 and said the developers are currently working on a fix. Also, the next app update is expected to fix this issue, so users have to wait until then.

We hope this bug will be fixed as soon as possible as Pixel 6 users cannot use HSBC banking services.

Update 1 (November 27)
5:02 p.m. (IST): HSBC UK Support recommends that users switch to a secure physical key at this time to access their accounts online. Unfortunately, there is still no ETA for a resolution.
Hi Ehsan, sorry for that our teams are doing their best to fix this, what you can do at the moment is switch to a secure physical key which will help you use online banking until it is resolved, you can order one by calling 03456 002 290 or from the branch. (Source)
