Stephen Smith | The road to perdition in education

The journey to our dystopian present began with the publication of the Communist Party Manifesto in 1848. Contrary to America’s founding principles, its foundational principles and historical analysis now find expression almost everywhere. Black Lives Matter, Critical Race Theory, Common Core, The Squad, Supreme Court Members, Public Employee Unions – it’s overwhelming. Woodrow Wilson institutionalized it and Franklin Delano Roosevelt tried to make it our “New Bill of Rights”.

Some of its goals:

Replace our Creator with the State. (“We take these truths for granted, that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights.”)

Replace parents with the state.

Rewrite history to adapt it to the Marxist narrative.

Stultify the people.

After the FDR, step by step leftists and foreign agents began to infiltrate all levels of government, both elected officials and bureaucrats. Take the time to discover Whitaker Chambers. If you’re up for a good scare, read “The Naked Communist” by Cleon Skousen. The book dates from the 1950s and all the Communist goals for our country have been achieved.

Former Soviet President Nikita Khrushchev told us how this would happen: “You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism straight away, but we will continue to feed you small doses of socialism until you finally wake up and find out that you already have communism. We won’t have to beat you. We will weaken your economy so much until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands.

When I was in college, I was in the choir. I remember being outraged when the text of the musical literature was changed. I complained to the deputy director, to no avail, that our shared history was stolen. Even at that tender age, I considered it a crime and a form of brainwashing.

Soon we began to see court orders to remove the “Ten Commandments” from the public arena in a clear attempt to change “free practice of religion” to freedom of religion. It was necessary to pursue the principles of Marxism.

Do not murder, conflicts with abortion.

Don’t steal, conflict with redistributive change.

Do not covet or envy, conflicts with arguments for redistributive change.

Don’t lie – well, they would be prevented from speaking at all.

The term “honor your father and your mother” conflicts with the state agenda, through education, to indoctrinate, engage in social engineering and instill values that are not consistent with those. of their parents.

You got the idea.

Nowhere has the takeover of power by leftists been more evident than in all levels of education. The leadership of the teachers‘ unions is driven by the Marxist utopian dream, a thirst for power and large-scale personal financial gain.

“When the schoolchildren start paying union dues, I will start to represent the interests of the schoolchildren. – Albert Shanker.

These union dues give teachers unions extraordinary influence and power. Dues are used to finance the campaigns of left-wing candidates who bow to the wishes of their union masters. Everyone knows that unions control our elected officials in Sacramento who fund and run the California Department of Education. You can be sure that there is never a freedom-loving constitutional scholar among them. Elected officials and the CDE define program requirements and approve textbooks that indoctrinate the Marxist agenda. Textbooks are published to serve only the lowest common denominator. There is no doubt that our children are stupid. Core Mathematics does not require a correct answer. The story is being rewritten to be consistent with the manifesto’s agenda.

The school boards have been bought out. Almost all of the board members received funds and their marching orders from the union.

What is also revealing is what is not taught. No more in-store courses that will prepare a student for non-academic vocations. Numerous studies have shown that learning to play an instrument is essential in abstract reasoning and brain development. Of course, most music lessons are gone. Gone are the days of teaching American civics and our founding principles.

Today, the Orwellian Ministry of Truth is overworked. Few are aware of the murderous intolerance of Marxism. We see this intolerance on our campuses and during the BLM street insurgencies. The shocking part is the lack of response from our public officials (the true believers?). Now that the left has power, they step into the light to proclaim their opposing worldview.

We cannot expect the voice of freedom to come from government. It must come from you. It’s up to the people to turn the tide and it must start with education. It starts with bringing the choice of school to California.

In July, will send the Education Freedom Act initiative to Sacramento for title and summary. If you believe in freedom, start marking the corner where you will set up a table to collect signatures. Taking back our country begins by removing our children from the perversions of state-controlled education.

Stephen Smith is a graduate of UCLA and has lived and worked in the Los Angeles area his entire life. In 2010 and 2012, he was the Republican-backed candidate against longtime incumbent Xavier Becerra in the House of Representatives.
